Looking for a Guarantee?

On Show Me The Fish Charters we are catching huge amber jacks all day long almost each time we go out. Along with that, a plethora of many of snappers- mangrove, yellowtail, lane and vermilion, are pretty much a genuine guarantee. With the usual porgys, trigger fish, scamp, red grouper and catch and release gag grouper added in the mix on the regular. During the Christmas celebration, Joe Pasuit & Craig Parsons from Lake Orion, Michigan had a nice catch of gag grouper; those two gentlemen are pictured in the below picture from left to right, joined by a mother-daughter team, Lois and Laura Farrell from Tampa, Fla.

That same team of Lois and Laura Farrell from the bay area, are pictured below with their largest gag groupers that were caught on that trip. We were fishing in about 60 ft offshore of Anna Maria Island, using live pinfish which seems to be what the fish are asking for recently.
I'm sure many of you locals are bundling up during these recent cold snaps, but I've seen the best results to be on any of the wrecks, springs and ledges out past 100 ft. Overall, if you're seeking the best Red grouper bite, you'll find that offshore, in about 165 ft... and this IS due to the cold. So, put on a good coat, maybe a hat and get out there.... because there is most definitely some hardcore fish out there to be found as long as you are willing to deal with a bit of chilly weather. Case in point are the folks pictured above; sure, Joe & Craig are from Michigan, but the mother-daughter team are Tampa Bay locals and they managed to brave the elements & were greatly rewarded!

Are you ready to claim your fish reward? This isn't like mail in rebates, this is the REAL DEAL, where you are guaranteed a quick ROI (Return On Investment) & a tangible benefit- fish that you can be pictured with, take some fillets home for tasty times later, & perhaps even be a fishing rockstar!

Fishing In a Winter Wonderland...

Many fishers get turned off when it gets chilly out, but Capt. Larry's trips have been awesome despite (or maybe in spite of) the cold. He only made one trip this past week due to the winter winds, but the cold weather wont stop these fishermen! If you can get out on the water, you will definitely be rewarded with a bountiful catch offshore, in between the cold fronts. There's no competition because there isn't anyone out there on the reefs due to the high wind, resulting in the fish are stacked up, ravenous, & ready to be caught. Look at 7 year old Cade Parsons, who wasn't fazed by the cooler weather (being from Lake Orion, Michigan probably helps!), holding a big gag grouper. Cade was using a live pinfish in about 50 ft offshore of Anna Maria Island & caught the gag grouper while fishing with his father.

On Show Me The Fish charters, we are catching many large amberjacks, and in those same areas catching a great number of red groupers, mangrove snappers, plus yellowtail, lane, and vermillion snappers. Though a lot of fishers discount them, we've also caught more than a few triggerfish, and a bunch of porgies, which are actually pretty tasty. These species feed well during the winter, one just needs to find the right day to make the trip offshore. Your best bite will be offshore of Anna Maria Island, in roughly about 120 ft waters, using large live bait.

On the inshore scene, my friends are catching lots of sheepsheads around the docks and bridges, as well as nice sized trout in the Palma Sola bay area. Looks like this is going to be a rough winter, so be able to adapt & get ready to fish in the instance between the cold fronts when you'll be able to get out there.

GAGS GONE WILD!

The holidays might be over, but we are still celebrating on Capt. Larry's boat, with gag grouper gone wild! Show Me The Fish Charter parties are catching up to the limit catches of gag grouper, and by going further offshore, there's been an immense amount of catches of red, black and scamp grouper, mangrove snapper and amberjack. Captain Larry hailed in the new year with hot grouper action, starting out in about 50 ft and around any rock pile/ledge out past that depth. Amberjack are also going steady & strong out around 115 ft. Large live baits like pinfish, sandperch and grunts are producing the larger beasts of the gulf. This time of year a wise fishermen needs to be flexible, fishing in between the cold fronts... But it's those cold fronts that bring the a trip of a lifetime & start your new year out right!
Above from left to right, is Bob Gilbert and Brian Hudgins, both from Glovcester, Virginia. Bob is holding a black grouper [Carborita] & Brian has a hefty gag grouper. They were caught their respectable sized fish using live pinfish in 80 ft offshore of Anna Maria Island. The happy anglers caught their limit of gag grouper, a smattering of red grouper and snatched up some snappers too.
Directly before Christmas, on Dec. 23rd, Pastor Jim Laduke and Baron Laduke (left to right, as seen in the above picture), both of Bradenton, FL caught a nice gag grouper. This was Baron's first offshore trip, and he was blessed to catch the largest grouper of the day! This gargantuan gag grouper was caught using sardines, in about 50 ft offshore of Anna Maria Island. What a great way to begin the holidays!

We hope your holidays were fantastic & filled with fish as well... if not, give Captain Larry a call & he will ensure you get to where the action is & leave satisfied with an impressive catch!
